Welcome to Startup Prince George!

Startup PG is a grassroots driven group in Prince George dedicated to creating more entrepreneurs and innovators in Northern, BC. We are not an organization, non-profit or business. We are a group of volunteers that partner with organizations to organize and lead a number of events throughout the year that bring together entrepreneurs, developers, designers, creators, artists and changemakers in a fun and social way.

Currently our flagship event is our monthly drinks at the Copper Pig. It is free to attend. Just come on by the last Tuesday of every month at 7pm. Hope to see you there.

Currently, our other major events:

  • Startup Weekend (54hr Business Incubator/game) in partnership with the Kauffman Foundation
  • PG Hacks (Hackathon) in partnership with various sponsors (This month: Regional District of Fraser Fort George)
  • Creative Entrepreneur Mixer (Maker Lab) in partnership with Two Rivers Gallery
  • Mentor 2 Mentor Event in partnership with various organizations.

(PS. Organizations, mentors and SME are a big part of the support of this community too!)

  • Kevin Pederson, Owner, Firepar
I have successfully taken an idea and developed it into a business 3 times and working on a 4th, but gaining traction and financial support is tough from Prince George without a startup community. An idea is the easy part, but being able to rely on a startup community instead of outsourcing to fill gaps in your expertise is a must.
  • Zelda Craig, CNC Industry Liaison, Applied Research & Innovation
I'm excited that Prince George is one of 15 Startup Communities in Canada. Local entrepreneurs will be able to tap in to a national network of expertise and supports, strengthening our local economy by helping us grow sustainable, strong businesses.
  • Sean Simmons, Founder of Map Jungle, Publisher of Anglers Atlas
"The entrepreneurial spirit is strong in Prince George. Startup PG gives us a way to harness that spirit and build new ventures in the north."
